Formerly the courthouse, the Macra Hall was built in 1863 as part of a complex occupied by the R.I.C. (Royal Irish Constabulary). This comprised a barracks (the old Bank of Ireland building which is now an office building) and a jail. The courthouse and barracks were auctioned as part of the sale of the town in 1909. Meath County Council purchased the building and used it as a courthouse until it was sold again in 1964. The Macra Hall now belongs to the local branch of Macra na Feirme which uses it as a meeting place and rents it out to other groups.
