This is the gate lodge and entrance to Frankville House located on the Kildalkey Road. This gate and lodge were demolished to make a new entrance and school extension to the Convent of Mercy secondary school on this site.

Tommy Sherrock worked for many years in Andy Geraghty’s shop in O’Growney Street. Mervyn Coffey was the retired Postmaster in Athboy at this time (father of Bob and Norman). Martin Murphy worked at timber/sawmill/furniture making. (father of Joe and grandfather of Seamus).

Robert Carey was the former Postmaster in Athboy. He married Frances Lewis from Ballivor in 1893. They had no children but Frances’ niece, Edith Lewis lived with them.
